A Safer Bathroom Solution for a South Austin Family

For many homeowners in South Austin, a single bathroom must serve the needs of the entire household. For Juan G. and his family, that shared space became a serious safety concern. As Juan’s mobility changed, stepping over a traditional bathtub wall to shower was no longer safe, increasing the risk of falls and injury.

At GreenTex Home Improvement, we’re proud to help Austin homeowners create safer, more functional spaces that improve daily life without sacrificing comfort or design.

A Real Safety Challenge in a Small South Austin Bathroom

Juan’s family contacted GreenTex Home Improvement with a clear goal: create a shower that would allow Juan to bathe safely while still working for the rest of the family. Like many homes in South Austin, the bathroom had limited square footage, making smart planning essential.

• Limited bathroom space
• Need for shared family use
• Increased fall risk from a high tub wall

The challenge was finding the right balance between accessibility, safety, and everyday usability.

A Thoughtful Shower Design Built for Safety

Working closely with Juan and his loved ones, our team designed a custom shower layout focused on independence, comfort, and long-term safety.

• Fixed bench seat positioned directly under the shower head
• Relocated control valves on the back wall for easier reach
• Secure grab bars to support safe transfers
• Low-entry step-in shower to reduce fall risks

This layout allows Juan to shower more independently while still providing ample space and comfort for other family members.

A Beautiful, Low-Maintenance Bathroom Upgrade

Safety doesn’t mean compromising on style. Juan’s family selected a simulated tile wall design featuring a Silver White marble pattern, giving the bathroom a bright, modern look.

• No grout lines to trap mold or mildew
• Easy cleaning and maintenance
• Healthier bathroom environment

The result is a shower that looks beautiful while staying practical for busy Austin families.
