As we visit and speak with homeowners across Central Texas, we run into a lot of misinformation and confusion when it comes to replacement windows. It can be easy to forget about your windows, but replacing poorly performing windows is one of the best investments you can make when it comes to your home.

GreenTex recently completed this window, door, and siding remodel for the Schultz family outside of Bee Cave. Mrs. Schultz first found GreenTex through the recommendation of a friend. She was considering a number of ideas to revamp the look and feel of her home, but she wanted to maximize her project budget and get the most bang for her buck. During the initial consultation, Mrs. Schultz and our design consultant Graeme looked at a number of different projects and talked through the options and possibilities. After careful consideration of her project goals, Mrs. Schultz determined that the doors, siding, and a few priority windows would deliver exactly what she was looking for and come within her project budget.

She had always dreamed of having a beautiful, custom wood front door in her home, but in each home she has lived in so far she has put up with the original builder grade doors. When she saw the incredibly accurate woodgrain finish on the ProVia Signet Fiberglass doors, she was so excited that she would not only be able to have her dream entryway, but also have a door that is virtually maintenance free and won’t degrade over time in the extreme elements of Central Texas! The Trillenium Multi-Point Locking System was the cherry on top, with three auto-aligning deadbolts along the length of the door that provide fortress level security and day-to-day ease of operation.

The siding on Mrs. Schultz’s home was the original wood siding, and after many years in the Texas sun it was time for an updated appearance. Our Cedar Milled James Hardie Lap Siding was the perfect remedy, providing a perfect match to a real wood texture and look! Coupled with a 25-Year Sherwin Williams SuperPaint, Mrs. Schultz now has an exterior that is not only beautiful, but it will stay beautiful for many years to come.

The final piece of the puzzle was the bay window in the kitchen. She loves the look and style of the bay window, but her original aluminum windows were showing their age in both appearance and the uncomfortable temperature in the kitchen. Our consultant Graeme made the suggestion to turn her large twin single hung window unit into one large fixed picture window to show off the dramatic view without any distracting grids or bars in the way. While initially unsure of the big change, she absolutely loves what it has done for the kitchen and all the natural light in the kitchen.
